How we compare platforms

A good copy trading platform does three things well: it gives you a wide choice of lead traders with transparent statistics, it gives you real control over risk, and it executes copied orders reliably on liquid markets. We describe each product from its public pages and help documentation, and we flag what we could not confirm. We do not rank by commission or sponsorship — there are no paid placements on this site.

Our criteria, in order of importance for followers:

  1. Risk controls — leverage caps, per-trade TP/SL, total stop-loss for a copy, maximum position size.
  2. Transparency — ROI, PnL, drawdown, win rate, trade history, AUM and follower counts.
  3. Product range — futures, spot and bot copying.
  4. Cost clarity — profit share shown up front, high-water mark, settlement method.
  5. Liquidity and reliability — how well copied orders fill.
  6. Availability — who can actually use it.

Binance brings the largest overall liquidity and a mature copy product with public and private lead portfolios on both futures and spot. Bybit is derivatives-first, with a master trader programme. OKX offers several copy modes and both futures and spot copying. Bitget has built one of the largest copy trading ecosystems, including bot copying. BingX was among the early crypto exchanges to embrace copy trading and keeps the experience simple. MEXC, KuCoin and Gate add copy trading to broad exchange offerings with many markets — useful, but check liquidity on smaller pairs.

Regional availability (US, UK and elsewhere)

Availability is the first filter, not the last. Many large offshore exchanges do not accept users from the United States, and some restrict derivatives in the UK, parts of the EU, Canada and other jurisdictions. Binance.US is a separate entity from Binance.com with a different product set. Rules change, so treat any list — including ours — as a starting point and check the platform's terms for your country before signing up. Using a VPN to get around restrictions breaks most platforms' terms and can lead to frozen funds.

Mobile apps and dashboards

Most people manage copy trading on their phones. A good app shows your copy positions, PnL after fees, the lead trader's current open positions and your risk settings clearly — and makes it easy to stop a copy. We break down what to look for in crypto copy trading apps.

How to choose — a quick decision path

  1. Filter by availabilityOnly consider platforms that legally serve your country.
  2. Decide spot or futuresBeginners often start with spot. Read spot copy trading.
  3. Check risk controlsLeverage cap, total stop-loss and per-trade TP/SL should be easy to set.
  4. Inspect trader transparencyCan you see full trade history and drawdown?
  5. Test with a small amountAnd practise first in our simulator.
Independent information

We do not provide financial advice. Copy trading involves the risk of loss, and leveraged copy trading can lose your full allocation. Always read the platform's own risk disclosures.

What we do not rank on

We do not rank platforms by the "best trader ROI" on their leaderboards — those numbers change daily and mostly reflect risk-taking. We also do not rank by bonuses or promotions, which are temporary and often come with conditions. The criteria above focus on what stays true for a follower month after month: how much control you have, how transparent the data is, and whether you can use the product where you live.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best crypto copy trading platform?

There is no single best platform for everyone. Large exchanges like Binance, Bybit, OKX and Bitget offer deep liquidity and many lead traders; eToro suits multi-asset, longer-term copiers; BingX is known for a simple interface. The best choice depends on your country, the markets you want and the risk controls you need.

Which crypto exchange is best for copy trading beginners?

Look for spot copy trading, clear statistics, easy leverage caps and stop-copy limits, and good educational material. Several exchanges meet these criteria; read our individual reviews and test settings in the simulator first.

Are there free crypto copy trading platforms?

Most exchange copy trading products do not charge a subscription. You pay trading fees on copied orders and a profit share to lead traders when you make money. eToro does not charge copiers a profit share but has its own fees and spreads.

Which copy trading platforms work in the US?

Many offshore exchanges listed here do not accept US residents. US options are limited and change over time; check each provider's terms and its regulatory status for your state.

Which exchange pioneered crypto copy trading?

BingX (originally Bingbon) is widely cited as one of the earliest crypto exchanges to build social and copy trading into its platform, around 2018. Forex and multi-asset platforms such as eToro offered copy trading earlier.
